Latin Food Night arrives at MEATS the first Tuesday of every month, starting September 6
Vamos a comer! Join us in savouring a fiesta of flavour and iconic Latin American dishes at MEATS’ new culinary extravaganza: Sabor Latino. Channelling inspiration from centuries-old staple cuisines, the South American culinary team have hand-crafted an abundant sharing menu featuring all things great about the region including tacos, empanadas, ceviche, chile con carne, picarones and more.
Marshalling sumptuous cuts sure to delight all carnivorous diners, Sabor Latino will debut on 6 September, and feature once-a-month thereafter on the first Tuesday of the month, at Pirata Group’s beloved SoHo smokehouse, MEATS.
The set menu takes guests on a gastronomic journey across the continent, course by course, with four
starters to share ranging from Empanada Argentina, a popular Latin American snack, comprising beef
filling wrapped in a melt-in-your mouth pastry dough; to sea bass Ceviche Peruano marinated with a
piquant ‘leche de tigre’ tiger’s milk marinade, red onion, roasted corn, sweet potato and coriander;
Tacos al Pastor – roasted pork tacos in chilli sauce, red onion and coriander; and Che Choripan –
Argentinian chorizo served with sourdough and bright chimichurri sauce.
After whetting your palate, dive into meatier Sabor Latino mains such as Pescado En Mole Verde, an explosion of colour and flavours, featuring pan-fried mackerel coated with a tart mole verde sauce and lime. For those seeing red, the menu will also feature Ojo de Bife a la Parrilla – MEATS’ famous grilled prime ribeye with roasted garlic and chimichurri sauce and roasted beef paired with Mexican red chilli sauce. And this epic Latino night wouldn’t be complete without the Carne con Chile, a rich and hearty dish with roasted beef and red chilli.
Side dishes are more than just a side event with an irresistible spread including Brazilian Feijoada, a stew of red and black beans with roasted pork belly, savoury steamed Humitas and Arroz Mexicano, a Mexican-style rice, all made to share (or keep to yourself).
Top the night off with a sweet treat. Latin American desserts include Alfajores Argentinos, an Argentinean confection made of shortbread, dulce de leche and icing sugar; and Picarones Peruanos, fried sweet pumpkin donuts topped with fig syrup.
To complement your meal, the MEATS team have concocted three Latin cocktails for a mere HKD68. The Sabor Latino drinks menu features Margaritas, the Cuba Libre, a simple rum and coke with lime, and Chilcano, which combines the snap of lime and pisco with the refreshing fizz of ginger ale.
